Tortuosity of arteries occurs when a normally straight artery starts to take on a twisted path. This is often referred to as tortuosity and kinking of arteries. This phenomenon occurs in arteries throughout the body including the aorta and cerebral [1, 2]. Arterial tortuosity is a potentially dangerous condition that can lead to cerebrovascular symptoms, ischemia, and stroke .
