Sensitivity Analysis and Conservation Law in Cracked Slab With Variable Thickness

Abstract

Both shape sensitivity analysis and conservation law, concerning constant translation, are used to derive the J integral expression of elastic cracked slab with nonuniform thickness, submitted to the action of in-plane loading, applied body forces and prescribed tractions on its boundary. In this case J integral can be expressed as the sum of two integrals, one along an arbitrary contour around the crack tip and other over the domain surrounded by this contour. The domain integral involves the gradient of the thickness and the gradient of the body forces.
