Abstract

A variety of plates has been extensively used as important structural elements in many industrial fields. Therefore, there have been many papers available on the vibration of plates in Japan as well as in other countries. Unfortunately, most of them have been written in Japanese, and they are unknown in other countries. The aims of this article are to review approximately 200 papers published in 1951 through 1985 in this country, and present important engineering information on plate vibrations.
